Meet
Lucy

Deep in my heart, I'm simply someone who loves words, community, and the land - and who believes that sharing our stories is one of the bravest, most healing things we can do.

I grew up just outside a small country town in New South Wales, and I will always carry a deep love for rural communities — their camaraderie, resilience, and the way people rally when times are tough. Over the years, I’ve worked in many roles, mostly in agriculture, and spent 15 years as a registered nurse, where I eventually discovered a special calling in mental health.

Life took another turn when I was diagnosed with ADHD at 39.

Suddenly, so much made sense — the self-doubt, the lack of confidence, and the feeling of being “different.” What could have been a setback has instead become a source of passion. Today, I advocate for greater awareness of ADHD, knowing how easily it can go undiagnosed, and the risks this can bring — from substance abuse to relationship struggles, even suicide. My hope is that by speaking openly, others will feel less alone.

These experiences have shaped my work as a writer, emerging author, speaker, and facilitator of Words for Wellbeing Journaling Workshops. Whether face-to-face or online, I guide people in using journaling as a tool for self-expression, resilience, and connection.

Outside of work, I’m happiest surrounded by my family and my animals. My Kelpies Wogsy and Smokey, my Border Collie pup Pippa, my stockhorse mare Rosie, and PudPud — the cat I never meant to keep but now couldn’t imagine life without — all bring me joy and keep me grounded.
